John Ernst and his roommates (Jeff, Ben, Casey) from Colorado decided that they wanted to do a triathlon. But not any triathlon, they wanted to complete an international distance triathlon(.9 mile swim, 26 mile bike and 6.2 mile run). So they trained and were ready for the Lake Delavan Triathlon. It was a very interesting event. During the swim you wondered if you were grabbing more water or weeds. The bike was smooth and beautiful, I had a PR on my bike, averaging just above 23mph. For the run, I was wearing David's shoes with out any socks and his shoes didn't really agree with me. The run was nice because it was a four lap loop, but half of it was off road and on uneven ground. So that made it hard, but we were all able to see each other during the run and that was great. I actually ran my last lap with John. Casey passed me with about 300 yards left and I couldn't match his blazing pace. So he beat me, but it was a sweet loss. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. All of them liked the triathlon and are planning on competing this fall.
